The winning team photographed in Shrewsbury’s abbey gardens in the early 60s.

Memories of the big matches won have retreated into the mists of time.

I (editor) was never any good at cricket and appear centre front in this photograph as Maths teacher Mr F.I. Williams pressed me into the role of scorer – to help improve my maths.
